Objective: Deliver timely, accurate, and audience-relevant coverage of a major international news event with limited resources, while maintaining strong viewer engagement and clarity.
Role & Strategy: As lead producer on a skeleton crew, I developed the coverage plan, coordinated team roles, and ensured seamless execution across live broadcasts. I focused on connecting global events to local audiences by identifying stories with Connecticut relevance.

Execution/Tactics:

  • Mobilized a five-person team to cover breaking news, producing 1.5 hours of live programming.
  • Planned and executed three live hits (2+ minutes each) highlighting local angles tied to the international story.
